Overview
The Kenya Data Protection Act (DPA) came into effect on November 25th, 2019.
The Kenya Data Protection Bill of 2019 is a Bill for an Act of Parliament to give effect to Article 31(c) and (d) of the Constitution; to establish the office of the Data Protection Commissioner; to make provision for the regulation of the processing of personal data; to provide for the rights of data subjects and obligation of data controllers and data processors; and for connected purposes (Data Processing Bill, 2019).
This course trains staff and organisation on the Data Protection Act and enables organisations achieve and maintain compliance relative to the Act.
Course Objective
- Comply with Article 31 (c) and (d) of the Kenya Constitution and demonstrate that you’re continuously training staff on their responsibilities.
- Educate teams on the roles, principles and processes under the Act.
- Use this e-learning training as part of your induction programme to raise awareness and strengthen staff understanding of the Data Protection Act.
- Encourage a culture of data protection throughout your organisation and ensure everyone receives the same level of training.
- Test learner knowledge to demonstrate compliance for auditing purposes.
